Church Diary – Autumn 2010.

22nd August 11am  Worship Theme – “tell me more about the national church”

29th August 11am Worship Theme “tell me more about the Social Care Council/ Crossreach"                                  

 1st September – Wednesday, 12 noon worship and lunch club.

5th September 11am The sacrament of communion will be celebrated.

                                450 years anniversary of the Scottish Reformation.

 

                                Farewell service for Colin and Dora Macleod.

12th September 11am Worship Theme “tell me more about the World Mission  Council"

 

                          5.30pm Supper service – all age supper and new format evening

                                       service in Muir hall from 6.15pm –6.45pm approx. Food

                                       provided – all welcome.

15th September 12 noon, midweek worship and lunch club.

18th/19th September – South Shawlands church is participating in the Open Doors

                                  weekend. The church is open from 10am – 4pm, and in the Muir

                                  hall, there will also be an Organisations’ Fair, where various

                                  organisations which use the church halls will have a stand with

                                  information about them. There will also be a Playgroup coffee

                                  morning from 10am-12 noon.

19th September 11am Worship Theme “tell me more about the Mission and

                                 Discipleship Council”. Prayers for healing.

 22nd September – Tuesday at 7.30pm Kirk Session meeting.

26th September 11am morning worship

                     

                          6.30pm A special service to give thanks for the 20th anniversary of the

                                      ordination of the Rev Evelyn Hope.

28th September Tuesday at 7.30pm Deacons’ court meeting.

 2nd October 2-5pm and 7-9pm “ Stories from the Frontline” – thinking of Christians facing discrimination and persecution  in various lands. Come and find out more first hand. Agencies involved  - Open Doors, Release International, CSW and World Mission Council.

3rd October – 11am Morning worship

6th October – 12 noon worship and lunch club

10th October –11am Harvest Thanksgiving.
